My Pregnancy Experience 1st and 2nd Trimester

As many of you know, I had my first child Jace, at 27 weeks due to a placenta abruption. I am now expecting a baby girl that will be here in October. In the beginning of this pregnancy we had all hopes to do everything the natural way from giving birth with no epidural, having a home birth, no vaccinations, keeping the placenta and more. Well all of this would have gone as planned as long as  the pregnancy went smooth.

During the first trimester I experienced the worst morning sickness ever. It even made me drop a few pounds. What made it even worst was that I was already battling appetite issues prior to being pregnant. My morning sickness was so bad smells made me sick. During my birthday trip to Miami, we were forced to eat outdoors at restaurants because I couldn’t take the smells of the foods. Especially smelling a variety at once. I also caught a stomach virus TWICE which was the worst thing ever. I mean it left me in tears!!

Now, we enter the second trimester and run into something completely different. One day, leaving the nail salon I got very dizzy and lightheaded standing up to go to the register to pay. I kept having to sit down every minute or so because I just couldn’t stand. It got to a point where I just had to sit down because my vision became blurred and my ears started ringing on top of everything else. An elderly lady took great care of me and made sure I was okay before I got in my car to drive. I ended up having another spell like so and was told to check my blood pressure which was 80/43 and that’s extremely low for anyone. I called my doctor and they told me there was nothing they could give me to raise my BP. My doctor and doula gave me recommendations that consisted of adding more salt to my diet, increasing my vitamin and fluid intake etc. Following those procedures it was expected to go up within a few weeks.

A few weeks later, I went to see my man in Pennsylvania where he is working for now sadly.. I had another episode while on the road back to GA. I felt fine leaving but about 2-3 hours in I got tired. I decided to stop at the nearest rest center to take a small nap because Jace was sleep at the time. Suddenly, I got lightheaded, dizzy, blurred vision and ringing in my ears again but this time it was worse. I was scared and just started praying! I began drinking my water, opened my door, and  put the air vents on me! I wanted to start crying because all I could think about was Jace in back not knowing what was going on, not being able to talk, and me fainting. After a few minutes of trying to gain composure, I was slowly coming back to myself. My mom wanted me to call the ambulance just to get checked before getting back on the road. She really didn’t want me to drive anymore that day at all. They took me and Jace to the hospital and gave me a bag of fluid and made sure the baby was okay. We were there a few hours, a nice sheriff took us back to my car, I drove a few more hours but stopped at a hotel to rest. All in all, we made it home safe and sound. But, at this point I have to get to the bottom of why this keeps happening or find some way to control it.
